As we inch closer to the release date of what is easily the most highly anticipated title for the current-gen systems, Grand Theft Auto V, we’re starting to learn more and more about the game. Everything that we’ve heard so far has only served to heighten our excitement for Rockstar’s next offering and today, we’re learning that weapons and vehicles will allow for some deep customization options.

When it comes to weapons, you’ll be able to play around with the “clips, scopes, flashlights, suppressors and cosmetic alterations.” The customization will not only allow for you to cater your weapon to your own personal taste, but certain missions will require you to have a particular gun or particular parts on your gun.

As for vehicles, you’ll be able to get “new body kits and paint jobs” as well as change things like the color of the tire smoke. You can also adjust the engine tuning and swap out the horn on your ride. In total, there will be over 1,000 different modifications that you can choose from.

Some missions ask you to customize vehicles in certain ways, and we have taken vehicle customization in general a lot further,” lead mission designer Imran Sarwar told Game Informer.

Although customization is nothing new, it’s nice to know that Rockstar is hoping to provide players with multiple ways to approach each mission, as that has been a complaint with previous games in the series. Gamers felt that despite the open-world nature of GTA, there was usually only one way to approach missions.
