In celebration of the game’s upcoming launch on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, Rockstar Games announced today that the Grand Theft Auto V soundtrack will receive a limited edition physical release. The soundtrack will be released on both CD and vinyl, and is limited to a production run of just 5,000 units.

Entitled The Music of Grand Theft Auto V, the set will feature 59 tracks compiled from the original soundtrack. This will include original music from popular artists such as A$AP Rocky, Twin Shadow, Wavves, Tyler the Creator and more. In addition to those tracks, the set will also include the complete original score of the title. Composed by Tangerine Dream, Woody Jackson, The Alchemist and Oh No, the score was heavily praised back when the original version of the game was released in 2013.

Both the vinyl and CD versions of the set will also feature their own unique bonus content. The vinyl set will span six vinyl records and will come with a full color booklet and lithograph poster. The CD version of the set will come with three discs, plus unique artwork, a poster, and a branded Grand Theft Auto V gold USB drive.

If there was ever a developer that understood the importance of music during gameplay, it’s certainly Rockstar Games. Every iteration of the Grand Theft Auto franchise has featured a plethora of amazing song choices, with my personal favorite being the 1980’s-flavored Vice City. Of course, the soundtrack here is much more modern, which certainly isn’t a bad thing.

The Music of Grand Theft Auto V will be available in select online and physical record stores beginning December 9. Pricing has yet to be announced, but we’ll let you know when we hear more.
