Halo 5: Guardians’ REQ System Gets Detailed In A Helpful New Video

When Halo 5: Guardians launches later this year, it will introduce several new features to the popular franchise. One of the more game-changing aspects being brought in by 343 Industries is the new Requisition System. To help fans of the series adjust to it, Microsoft has released a helpful new video to explain everything.

Narrated by the off-brand, not copyright infringing Mister Chief, the clip details not only what the REQ system is, but also how it factors into the multiplayer action of Halo 5. As it stands, players can earn REQ points by playing matches in either the Arena or Warzone multiplayer modes. Acquired points are then used to purchase REQ packs, which come with several different cards.

Cards come in three different varieties:

  1. Cosmetic – Armor and weapon skins, as well as new assassination animations, that don’t effect gameplay. They just make you look cooler.
  2. Permanent – New loadout weapons and specialized armor mods that can only be used in Warzone
  3. Single-Use – One time use only cards that grant players access to powerful weapons, vehicles and power-ups.

The Nick Offerman-voiced Mister Chief offers up additional details such as when certain items can be used and how cards can be purchased using real money if you don’t feel like earning points. It’s a helpful, and hilarious, guide for those that are confused or unaware of the changes coming in Halo 5.

Halo 5: Guardians is scheduled to launch worldwide on October 27th, exclusively for the Xbox One.
