The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will finally be let loose upon the world next week, and arriving alongside Link’s first truly open-world adventure will be five brand new amiibo themed after the hero himself as well as various monsters found throughout the rolling hills of Hyrule. Two versions of Link (Rider and Archer) and one each for Zelda, The Guardian and Bokoblin characters will all be up for grabs come March 3 and unlock various in-game items for Breath of the Wild.

As per VG247, you can find a full rundown of which amiibo does what below.

  • Guardian: Rare weapons and items, various crafting materials
  • Bokoblin: Consumable items and a Bokoblin club weapon
  • Link (Rider): A new saddle for Link’s horse and a weapon
  • Zelda: Assortment of items including a shield
  • Link (Archer): Assortment of items including a bow

As of now, it’s not entirely clear if the weapons and other items such as the horse saddle will be obtainable in-game without having to purchase each corresponding amiibo, but none of the loot on offer seems to be particularly game-changing. It’s likely the case that the assortment of gear is meant to help players get started on their journey rather than provide end-game rarities. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild releases alongside the Nintendo Switch on March 3. If you’re not interested in picking up the Big N’s new hardware on launch day, Breath of the Wild will also be available on Wii U. In related news, Nintendo last week announced an Expansion Pass for the highly-anticipated title, marking the first time ever that a Zelda title will receive new content post-launch.
