Hitman‘s third campaign episode – Marrakesh – launches May 31 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, developer IO Interactive has announced.

Speaking on Sony’s PlayStation blog, IO community manager Travis Barbour says that the studio knew they had to pull out all the stops for Agent 47’s trip to Morocco after the excellent critical reception given to the previous Paris and Sapienza stages, and believes Marrakesh won’t disappoint when it goes live next week.

As with any Hitman level, Marrakesh promises players the lure of voyeurism and the thrill of infiltration and it’s something we’ve been working hard on getting just right.

Offering two targets, the ‘Gilded Cage’ mission challenges players to eliminate private banker Claus Strandberg, holed up inside the secure Swedish Consulate, and army General Reza Zaydan, protected by his elite squad of soldiers at a temporary headquarters in the heart of the city. Both targets will be challenging to reach and both will of course have some entertaining special moments attached to them that will allow players to dole out some poetic justice.

Besides the above, IO says you can expect to see more Elusive Targets and Escalation Contracts show up following the release of Episode 3 that take advantage of the new setting’s bustling streets and consulate building.

Hitman‘s Marrakesh scenario will go on sale for the same price as previous standalone episodes and, as confirmed by VideoGamer, you only need the base Intro Pack to download further episodes, so you can pick and choose which ones best take your fancy.
