After its rip-roaring debut in the latest issue of Game Informer magazine, Turtle Rock Studios’ new, co-op based shooter Evolve has caught the attention of the gaming community with its bold approach to multiplayer. And now, 2K Games has confirmed that the title will launch across PS4, Xbox One and PC in fall 2014.

In addition, the publisher also revealed details on the game’s pre-order incentives. Those who decide to purchase Evolve ahead of time will be entitled to receive the Monster expansion pack, which boasts the Savage Goliath skin alongside an all-new monster character that will become available post-launch.

At its monstrous core, Evolve is a cooperative shooter that takes place on an unforgiving alien planet in the distant future. Users will take up arms in squads of four, before taking the fight to an ever-evolving, player-controlled behemoth. Much like the Spies vs. Mercs mode from Splinter Cell: Blacklist, the humans will experience the game in first-person, whereas the player who controls the animalistic beast has a third-person perspective.

In truth, not much is known about the game at this point, nor have we seen any tangible gameplay, but given the pedigree behind the bold new IP — coupled with the intriguing concept art and four-against-one game design — Evolve has certainly earned the benefit of the doubt. Besides, the fact that 2K acquired the rights for the game from THQ for $10.8 million in 2013 conveys the amount of faith behind the sci-fi shooter.

What do you think, though? Does Evolve’s focused, Predator-like multiplayer sound appealing to you? Give us your thoughts in the comments section below.
