Sucker Punch Productions are celebrating a “big day” today after revealing that upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive inFAMOUS: Second Son has gone gold. For all intents and purposes, the game is done and ready to go out to the public, although you’ll need to wait about another month or so to actually get your hands on it.

From Sucker Punch Co-founder Brian Fleming’s Twitter account:

#InfamousSecondSon has gone GOLD! Big day here at SPP!

Now, that doesn’t actually mean that the development process is complete. The next month will no doubt be spent building up a day one patch based around problems that they didn’t have time to fix ahead of pressing. There’ll also be a bunch of PR work to do, so expect interviews, trailers and screenshots to be coming our way. There might even be a little DLC work going on, although I can’t imagine we’ll hear about that anytime soon. The game might be finalized, but saying it’s finished might be a little disingenuous.

inFAMOUS: Second Son looks set to be one of the first really big PlayStation 4 exclusives, especially after Killzone: Shadow Fall managed to underwhelm critics and fans alike. Those that have played Sucker Punch’s latest claim that it’ll define how many of us look at the new generation, and that it’s doing things that absolutely weren’t possible on PlayStation 3. Suffice to say, there’s a lot of hype behind it.

Despite the fact that your disk is probably on its way to being pressed, you won’t be able to buy inFAMOUS: Second Son until March 21st. Until then, let us know your thoughts on the game in the comments section below.
