Injustice 2 Celebrates Upcoming Wonder Woman Movie With Special Event

Warner Bros. and NetherRealm Studios are celebrating the impending release of superhero film Wonder Woman with a special in-game event for Injustice 2 players. Starting now until June 5, all players of the all-star DC brawler will have the opportunity to unlock a special set of gear modeled directly after the costume worn by Gal Gadot in the movie. In order to unlock the dazzling alternate costume, console players will need to participate in the multiverse event "To End All Wars," with those on mobile also able to obtain the gear, as well as a few neat extras, such as character cards, through play.

This is the first tie-in event to be held for Injustice 2 since it launched earlier this month, and it’s unlikely to be the beat ’em up’s last. With the long-awaited Justice League scheduled to arrive later this year, new costumes for the likes of Batman, Green Lantern and other members of the global defense force can, judging by the above, only be a given at this point, but we’ll have to await confirmation from NetherRealm itself closer to the movie’s release.

Circling back to Wonder Woman, reviews for DC’s first movie of the year have started flowing in, and the critical consensus appears to suggest that Marvel’s Cinematic Universe finally has some competition on the silver screen. As for Injustice 2, NetherRealm has big plans for its current flagship title. Next month sees the release of its first character DLC pack, which includes Starfire, Mortal Kombat‘s Sub-Zero and Red Hood. You can feast your eyes on a trailer for the latter down below.
