iOS RPG Zodiac Reveals Final Character Spotlight

The upcoming gorgeous iOS RPG Zodiac: Orcanon Odyssey has revealed a spotlight on its final character as the launch date approaches. Zodiac is a gorgeous upcoming RPG linked to the Final Fantasy series, as Final Fantasy VII scenario writer Kazushige Nojima and Final Fantasy Tactics composer Hitoshi Sakimoto collaborated on the game.

The newest character trailer reveals Dagmar, who is a member of the Orsa race. The massive Dagmar has been engaged on a decade long quest for vengeance across the land of Orcanon, following an act of atrocity against his family from the nefarious Scion Hunter. Dagmar joins Cael, our protagonist, and his party along the way, learning that they share common interests – like beating the snot out of monsters.

Zodiac: Orcanon Odyssey has been billed as a persistent online role playing game, and it’ll be coming┬áto iOS sometime in November 2015. It’s got gorgeous visuals, a beautiful soundtrack, and promises to have a deep storyline to boot. It’s a mix of classic elements from Japanese RPGs with more modern touch game play conventions, and can supposedly be enjoyed solo or as a multiplayer experience.

Zodiac: Orcanon Odyssey

As for the core gameplay, it’s much like a typical RPG. Your party and a bunch of monsters take turns hitting each other. You attack, defend, and gain items like potions and new weapons. There’s an element of tactics in that strong attacks leave you more vulnerable to damage on your next turn, and you can swap classes on the fly to fit your needs and the abilities of your foes.

Zodiac: Orcanon Odyssey has been built from the ground up for a touch screen interface. You drag action icons onto monsters, so there’s no messing around with fake D-pads and awkward menus. Even outside of battle, travel on your flying griffon only involves dragging your finger around the screen.

The game will be a premium title on iOS, and will be released in late November or early December of this year. It’ll also hit Steam, Playstation 4 and PS Vita some point shortly afterwards.
