NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. have just rolled out the latest trailer for Injustice 2, this time shining the spotlight on Cheetah. First revealed back in February, the character is a major enemy of Wonder Woman, boasting superhuman speed and strength and the likeness of the animal after which she’s named. Up until now, we’ve not actually seen much of how the supervillain fights, but today’s trailer provides a full rundown of how she’ll tackle any given confrontation.
Appearing to have a strong reactive and counter game, Cheetah is able to not only juggle her opponents with lightning-fast combos but dodge their attacks with flips and grab them mid-air to interrupt jump-ins. As of now, she certainly seems like an all-rounder, but how well she’ll fare against combatants that are happy to sit in a corner and blast away with projectiles could prove to be her Achilles heel. The recently revealed Firestorm, for example, is a zoner that can quite easily keep opponents at bay with fiery balls of death and can escape corner pressure with a well-timed torpedo attack.
Like Wonder Woman, Robin also features in the video as a dummy for Cheetah to showcase her moves, with Batman’s poor sidekick taking an unintended ride in the Batwing after being unceremoniously kicked into its cockpit. Check out the full spectacle above.
Injustice 2 is out May 16 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Cheetah joins the likes of Poison Ivy, Cyborg, Swamp Thing and Firestorm to bolster the ranks of the beat ’em up’s roster.
