This morning a trailer for Lost Planet 3 was leaked to YouTube, effectively announcing the title before Capcom had a chance to give it a proper unveiling.

The trailer, which was pulled from its original source shortly after going up, doesn’t contain any gameplay but it does reveal that Lost Planet 3 will once again have players return to the frozen planet E.D.N. to fight giant creatures using giant Vital Suits.

Since there has yet to be a formal announcement for the game, exact details are still a bit unclear. What we know for sure is that Lost Planet 3 is set to release on the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC in 2013, and it is being developed by Spark Unlimited (the Western developers behind Legendary: The Box and Turning Point: Fall of Liberty).

You can check out the trailer for Lost Planet 3 down below while we wait for an official announcement by Capcom in the near future.

The extreme and unpredictable conditions that characterized the Lost Planet® series return, harsher than ever before in Lost Planet 3. Players take on the role of Jim, a utility rig pilot who has left Earth to take on a hazardous but lucrative contract on E.D.N. III. Delivering a diverse range of gameplay, including third-person on-foot battles and intense first-person utility rig action, players will need to brave the uncharted terrain, hostile climate and threat of indigenous Akrid creatures. With a number of multiplayer modes and a compelling single player experience, Lost Planet 3 will delve deeper into the Lost Planet universe, uncovering hidden truths when it releases in early 2013.
