New LittleBigPlanet 3 Gamescom Trailer Details Create Mode

LittleBigPlanet 3 isn't too far off from its November 18th release date on both the PS3 and PS4, so it makes sense that Sony would be eager to showcase some new media and info on the title at Gamescom. Admittedly, the new trailer and info released today mainly shows off features that were already announced, like how the three new playable characters will have unique unlockable outfits to further set themselves apart from Sackboy, as well as the ability to create games in other genres than the standard 2D platforming LittleBigPlanet is best known for.

LittleBigPlanet 3 isn’t too far off from its November 18th release date on both the PS3 and PS4, so it makes sense that Sony would be eager to showcase some new media and info on the title at Gamescom.

The interesting new tidbits are some of the functions that will be unique to the PS4 version, namely the ability to use the DualShock 4’s touch pad for precision placement in Create mode, for those interested in making and sharing original levels, as well as the option to use the PS4’s Share function and create video previews of your levels, which can be viewed in-game and on the companion website, lbp.me.

We also get a look at the Blaster Handle, which will allow creators to run wild with their imaginations in creating custom powerups for Sackboy from scratch, as the huge flyswatter in the trailer demonstrates. Other new features not mentioned in the trailer include the Sack Pocket, which will allow players to store and select powerups at any time instead of being forced to use only one, and the promise of 29 enhanced tools from the first two games, 10 tools from LittleBigPlanet PS Vita making their console debut, and 70 brand new tools.

We will continue to keep you updated on LittleBigPlanet 3 as more news drops. For now, check out the new trailer below.
