Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam Coming To 3DS Spring 2016

Nintendo unveiled a clever mashup of RPGs during today's Nintendo Direct in the form of Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam for the 3DS, which will be a crossover of both the Mario & Luigi and Paper Mario franchises. The story looks to revolve around the Mario & Luigi versions of familiar characters meeting their Paper Mario counterparts, and will have both versions interacting and even teaming up in battle.

One notable battle showcased in the announcement trailer featured all four brothers riding a giant papercraft version of Mario in a fully 3D environment, along with clips of Bowser arguing with his paper doppelganger. Nintendo looks to be taking full advantage of the crazy possibilities this mashup might provide, so it will be interesting to see in what other ways the worlds of both series are utilized.

Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam will launch for 3DS in the Spring of 2016.
