Mass Effect: Andromeda Is “Totally Softcore Space Porn,” Says BioWare

By

For one reason or another, BioWare’s spacefaring Mass Effect series has always attracted attention for its sexual content (or ultimately lack thereof), and Mass Effect: Andromeda‘s fate appears to be no different.

Following a leaked early assessment of the RPG’s content by the ESRB earlier this month (via VG247), the images spotted by BioWare Social Network show that the not final rating landed Andromeda with an M rating for its strong language, strong sexual content, partial nudity, blood and violence. The partial nudity designation was, according to BioWare general manager Aaryn Flynn, later amended to be “full nudity” instead, leading fans to quiz him on Twitter over just how graphic Andromeda‘s steamier moments can get.

A question from one fan garnered the response from Flynn that Andromeda isn’t going to play coy in depicting sex between the player’s Pathfinder and other (hopefully sentient) beings he or she encounters throughout the galaxy, stating that it’s “totally softcore space porn.”

It’s probably around now that you’d suspect Flynn is just having a bit of fun with the whole scenario, but when asked if he was trolling, Flynn simply responds with, “oh I’m not.” For all the adult gamers out there with small children, it’s probably a good idea not to start playing Andromeda before they’re tucked in for the night, lest you be on the receiving end of some rather awkward questions.

Mass Effect: Andromeda is out March 21 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC and, assuming you’ve got your priorities straight, you can start scouting out your potential love interests by watching the game’s various trailers here.
