Rockstar announced yesterday that they have delayed Max Payne 3‘s Hostage Negotiation DLC from its original September launch, which obviously didn’t happen, to a vague “later this fall” date.

No reason was given for the delay, however, Rockstar offered their apologies to fans and promised that they are “working hard” to get Hostage Negotiation and “all the other DLC” (Painful Memories and Deathmatch Made in Heaven, which were originally scheduled to release in October) finished and out the door.

To make up for the delay, Rockstar announced that they will release a free “all-new chrome weapons bonus” for all Social Club members. The free content was given a “later this week” unlock date, so expect to hear of its delay sometime tomorrow.

Whenever Hostage Negotiation does arrive, it will add four new multiplayer maps to Max Payne 3; Club Moderno, Estádio Do Galatians, O Palácio Strip Club, and Favela Heights. The DLC also includes; the M24 Sniper Rifle, the IA2 Assault Rifle, the Explosive Burst booby trap, the Bomb Suit, the Intimidation Mask, and the Filhos De Ogum avatar faction. The DLC pack will cost  $10 on PS3 and PC, and 800 MS Points on Xbox 360.
