MechWarrior Online Coming To Steam Next Month

MechWarrior Online, an online competitive multiplayer shooter with a heavy emphasis on mech combat, has been publicly available for PC owners as a standalone client since September 2013. For those who have held off playing the game in hopes that it will get a proper Steam release, the wait is almost over, as the game will be made available on computer gaming's most popular service on December 10. There isn't any word yet regarding whether common Steam features like leaderboards or achievements will be integrated, or if any pre-existing features will be tweaked for Valve's service.

For those who have held off playing the game in hopes that it will get a proper Steam release, the wait is almost over, as the game will be made available on computer gaming’s most popular service on December 10.

For those unfamiliar with the game, it has players control walking vehicles called BattleMechs that are stacked with numerous tools and weapons, which can be customized as players earn in-game currency. The title also serves as the first MechWarrior outing in some time, as the series has been dormant for the past decade.
