Medieval Shooter Overpower Coming To Steam Greenlight On January 19th

From January 19th, the medieval third person shooter Overpower will be arriving with Kickstarter and Steam Greenlight. Until now the project has remained unfunded and has been the work of two friends at a small studio under the name of Hydrant Games. Given how the early gameplay footage looks, however, it's hard to see it staying that way once the Kickstarter campaign gets up and running.

The game, which you can see early clips of in the video above, will put you in the shoes of a classic RPG style character as you fight through MMO-style PVP combat and aim to build your hero’s skills and abilities. Unlike most MMO predecessors, however, Overpower is striving to take a lot of the grinding elements out of its character progression.

Speaking about the game’s early development, one of its creators explained their take on the genre:

The goal is to offer players a skill based MMO style PvP experience that allows them to progress their class without the need to grind for months. Like an MMO game it offers class based progression, allowing players to unlock new abilities, weapons, armor, and eventually more classes.

Overpower certainly looks like an exciting title to keep an eye out for, and you can expect to see it through Kickstarter and Steam Greenlight from January 19th.
