Developer Avalanche Studios has unveiled no less than 20 new screenshots for the studio’s upcoming open-world threequel, Just Cause 3.

Showcasing some of the bombastic action that the franchise is renown and indeed loved for, the stills pack a serious punch, with protagonist Rico Rodriguez diving, shooting and blasting his way across the four corners of the game’s fictional Mediterranean as he does his utmost to take down the malevolent dictator.

Featuring a 400 square mile map, according to publisher Square Enix, Just Cause 3 is undeniably huge in scope, but this latest batch of promos reaffirm what many fans had been hoping for: the return of the series’ ludicrously fun gameplay. With a grappling hook — among other devices — at your disposal, the entire island essentially acts as one big playground for players.

Just Cause 3 is the first entry into the chaotic series since its predecessor released back in 2010, and if this latest release contains even a fraction of the fun, then you can color us very excited indeed.

Just Cause 3 will allow players to cause havoc at will when the sequel arrives for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in 2015. Until then, you can check out those explosive screenshots in question through the gallery below.
