Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance E3 Trailer Is A Cut Above The Rest

Never one to be satisfied with merely polishing his sword on the sidelines, Raiden has joined the pre-E3 promotion with this double-edged trailer for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. Notably devoid of his death-dealing blades the first half of the trailer is rather blunt, but once unsheathed the full impact of Raiden's return truly resonates.

Never one to be satisfied with merely polishing his sword on the sidelines, Raiden has joined the pre-E3 promotion with this double-edged trailer for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. Notably devoid of his death-dealing blades the first half of the trailer is rather blunt, but once unsheathed the full impact of Raiden’s return truly resonates.

With shimmering swords and astonishing acts of agility, the trailer is certainly not hiding its action under a cardboard box. The destructible environments are as impressive as ever, with the seemingly unstoppable steel slicing through pillar and post, and they appear to have tactical implications as well as the ability to amaze. With more than just blades being brandished, and more than just Raiden being involved, this is a trailer with a lot to be seen beyond the sparks.

Raiden’s E3 appearance has been known for some time, but with a playable demo confirmed to be coming to the floor I suspect that this slice of footage, whilst incredibly satisfying, is just the tip of the sword.
