Microsoft Drops the Ball with Kinectimals?

Microsoft says they're going to be using the TAG system for Kinectimals DLC, and they've show that with the first round. All the Limited Edition dolls, feature TAG items that can be scanned into the game to unlock special LE toys, and LE pets to use.

Microsoft says they’re going to be using the TAG system for Kinectimals DLC, and they’ve show that with the first round. All the Limited Edition dolls, feature TAG items that can be scanned into the game to unlock special LE toys, and LE pets to use.

The problem is that TAG codes, are not unique, and can be used as many times as
you feel like.  To that end, all of the TAGs have appeared online here, effectively making the purchase of the LE pointless.

Did Microsoft drop the ball with Kinectimals? Sure looks like it.
