Featuring the likes of Patton Oswalt, Ashley Johnson and Scott Porter, this mixture of brief interviews and gameplay footage does a good job of summarizing and showing off the game at hand. You can also tell that the actors had a good time working on the title, and that they respect the genre as a whole. According to Scott Porter, it’s “the most epic tale that Telltale has put together,” although a grain of salt must obviously be taken with a comment such as that.

If you haven’t been following the game closely, here’s a brief synopsis from its latest press release:

In Minecraft: Story Mode, playing as either a male or female hero named ‘Jesse,’ you’ll embark on a perilous adventure across the Overworld, through the Nether, to the End, and beyond. You and your friends revere the legendary Order of the Stone: Warrior, Redstone Engineer, Griefer, and Architect; slayers of the Ender Dragon. While at EnderCon in hopes of meeting Gabriel the Warrior, Jesse’s friends discover that something is wrong… something dreadful. Terror is unleashed, and you must set out on a quest to find The Order of the Stone if you are to save your world from oblivion.

Minecraft: Story Mode begins its journey today, for select platforms, and will make its way to other devices over the next day or so. Stay tuned for our detailed review of the first episode, which will be available in the very near future.
