The burgeoning Mod community for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has taken another big step forward as a new update is here to let you play as alternative protagonists. In the new update from Nexus Mods user ParKan, players are able to take control of Ciri, Triss, Yennefer or Shani as opposed to Geralt in the game's open world.

In the new update from Nexus Mods user ParKan, players are able to take control of Ciri, Triss, Yennefer or Shani as opposed to Geralt in the game’s open world.

You can check out a clip of the rotatable characters in action in the video above, and the description through YouTube contains instruction for how to utilize the mod for yourself. The video also confirms that a part of this mod will allow for you to play the game with a permanent companion character, as opposed to having them come and go as they do throughout the story and quests.

There are limits to how thoroughly this can be employed, of course, and the comments section for the video contains a number of user replies that confirm Geralt’s voice remains in use, as does his appearance for cut scenes. There is also a suggestion that certain combat animations can look a little bit off at times, but apart from that it certainly seems to be impressive work.
