Naughty Dog is prepping to reveal fresh details on Nathan Drake’s next and much-anticipated adventure, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.

In an interview with GameCrate, the studio’s co-president Evan Wells revealed that the development team plan to reveal more information in the not so distant future.

“It’s coming along nicely. We’ve been hard at work since E3 and all I can say is that we’ll be having some stuff to show you very soon.”

Whether this subtly confirms Uncharted 4’s appearance at Spike TV’s VGX Awards in December remains to be seen — after all, the studio unveiled the first teaser trailer at last year’s event. Since then, we haven’t heard much in terms of actual story. June’s E3 served up a full in-game trailer that hinted at a darker tone all the while showcasing the sequel’s rather stunning visuals.

As a matter of fact, there have been reports suggested that A Thief’s End could very well be the last entry into Naughty Dog’s beloved franchise, with Nolan North — voice actor behind Drake — suggesting that the fourth entry is the last one the studio wants to be involved with.

Uncharted is arguably the biggest and most critically-acclaimed IP among Sony’s roster of exclusives (followed closely by God of War and Gran Turismo), so it will interesting to see how the publisher handles the property should ND decide to hang up the proverbial hat. Alas, this is merely conjecture at this point in time and we’ll just have to wait until the imminent announcement before we find out more on Uncharted 4.

While a specific release date is yet to be announced, it’s understood that Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will launch exclusively for PlayStation 4 in 2015.
