NBA 2K16 Will Take To The Court In September, Pre-Order Bonuses Detailed

Another year, another iteration in 2K Games' long-running NBA series. Only this time around, there's a greater expectation for the studio to deliver the goods following the turbulent online experience players had to persevere with in NBA 2K15 last year. While it boasted expanded features such as MyPark, the overall user experience online proved to be far from ideal, with players continually kicked from servers paving the way for a palpable sense of disappointment.

Another year, another iteration in 2K Games’ long-running NBA series. Only this time around, there’s a greater expectation for the studio to deliver the goods following the turbulent online experience that players had to persevere with in NBA 2K15 last year. While it boasted expanded features such as MyPark, the overall user experience online proved to be far from ideal, with players continually kicked from servers paving the way for a palpable sense of disappointment.

Fast forward to 2015 and fans are casting one eye over the release of NBA 2K16 with apprehension. Despite the yearly commitment to realism, fans will be lobbying for improved online support, and according to VP of Marketing Alfie Brody, that’s exactly what the new installment will aim to reach when it launches on September 29.

“NBA 2K16 promises to be one of the most groundbreaking sports titles in video game history, combining exciting new features with uncanny realism. We’re always seeking new ways to excite and ignite our fans’ tremendous passion for the franchise, and offering unmatched early access is just another way to bring them closer to the on-court action they crave.”

Slated for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC, the yearly installment is one of the flagship titles in 2K’s roster, and the publisher is ensuring NBA 2K16 has every chance of a successful, technically sound launch by offering the chance to play the sports title four days early to those who pre-order. That’s right, ardent fans will be able to beat the buzzer and take to the court on September 25 if they place money down ahead of time, and it’s understood this promotion is exclusive to North American retailers such as GameStop.

As detailed below, that’s not the only perk for pre-ordering, as players will gain access to 10,000 coins from the title’s in-game currency not to mention VIP treatment in NBA 2K16‘s MyTeam segment.

We’ll have much more information for you about NBA 2K16 as the sports title gears up for match day. In the interim, be sure to check out the image below for more details on the early tip-off promotion.
