Interestingly, it recently emerged that an early copy of the space-faring adventure had been sold on eBay for $1,300, a price well over the recommended retail price. The lucky winner of the auction has proceeded to post early gameplay details through various channels, prompting Hello Games head Sean Murray to ask fans not to spoil the experience for themselves via Twitter.

If you’re not bothered about discovering the finer details of No Man’s Sky a week early, you can visit the relevant Reddit thread here or, if you have the patience, you can experience it all for yourself come August 9.
