The company outlined the specifics of the monthly improvements in a recent video (which you can check out above), and while November’s update isn’t as significant as previous months, it’s still nice that console owners will gain access to a range of personalization options. In fact, according to the official post, custom backgrounds was the number one fan-requested feature to date.

Essentially, the entertainment-centric addition will allow users to set unlocked Achievements as a background on the home screen, while new TV features will highlight the hot topics that are trending across Twitter. Speaking of which, Xbox One owners will now have the option to share game DVR snippets through the Twitter app directly — all you are required to do is link your personal account with the one found on Xbox Live.

Microsoft will also to bolster the system’s other entertainment options come November, when the mandatory update brings in recent and favourite channels to the MiniGuide, as well as YouTube Staff Picks and even a What’s On section. In essence, the trending integration will allow users to see what’s hot and topical across the console’s dashboard.

Rounding off the November update is improvements to the Xbox One’s SmartGlass integration — with the app now showing friends’ game activity — as well as some minor adjustments to the gamer profile, which now allows players to update their biography and location settings.

Without doubt, the addition of custom themes and backgrounds is the headlining star of Xbox One’s November update, but console owners will be pleased to see the Twitter integration, too — particularly having the ability to share game clips directly.
