PC Arena Shooter Quake Champions Revealed By Bethesda

Bethesda has officially lifted the lid on Quake Champions, a PC-only arena shooter that features unlocked framerates. Additional details are expected to be unveiled at QuakeCon later this year.

Bethesda has officially lifted the lid on Quake Champions, a PC-only arena shooter that features unlocked framerates and, evidently, a tremendous amount of heritage.

Buoyed by the critical and commercial success of DOOM, Bethesda is circling back to id Software’s archive of shooters, this time resurrecting Quake for a new generation. It’s unclear whether the publisher’s Quake re-do is being aligned as a free-to-play title, but either way, Champions is pitched as a “skill-based arena-style” shooter, and you can check out the official description below.

The fast, skill-based arena-style competition that turned the original Quake games into multiplayer legends is making a triumphant return with Quake Champions. Running at an impressive 120hz with unlocked framerates, id Software’s new multiplayer shooter is getting ready to take PC gaming by storm once more.

Quake Champions features a roster of unique characters, each with their own distinctive abilities, allowing you to fight the way you want. Get your first look at Quake Champions and some of its heroes in the cinematic reveal trailer, debuted during the #BE3 2016 Showcase.

Expect more information regarding Quake Champions to surface during QuakeCon in August.
