Peggle 2 Apparently Coming To The Xbox One On December 9th

One of the more memorable moments from this past E3 Convention came courtesy of PopCap co-founder John Vechey. Following the announcement of Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, Vechey exuberantly announced Peggle 2 by doing an uppercut. Although the title would eventually be delayed past the Xbox One's launch date, if a preview from VentureBeat is correct, we may all be experiencing "Extreme Fever" very soon.

One of the more memorable moments from this past E3 Convention came courtesy of PopCap co-founder John Vechey. Following the announcement of Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, Vechey exuberantly announced Peggle 2 by doing an uppercut. While PopCap Games has confirmed nothing outside of a “TBA 2013” release date, Peggle 2 will apparently be released on December 9th. The preview also reveals that the title will feature 120 levels of peg clearing excitement and will carry a price tag of $11.99.

Since the game will apparently be coming out next week, it is a little odd that PopCap hasn’t come forward with an official announcement yet. However, since the preview casually throws it out there without making a huge deal over it, I’m going to guess that they accidentally spoiled what was going to be a big reveal. If this release date is true though, I would expect an announcement from PopCap within the next few days.

As a huge fan of both Peggle and Peggle Nights, I’m eagerly anticipating the release of this sequel. I don’t even own an Xbox One yet and I’m still excited for Peggle 2 to come out. I mean, is there a better feeling in the world than when you clear out an entire level and “Ode to Joy” begins to blast through your speakers?

We will continue to have coverage of Peggle 2 in the lead-up to its (un-confirmed) December 9th release date.
