Unconfirmed reports suggest that Sony is planning to launch a PlayStation 4 and PS Vita “Ultimate Edition” bundle in the UK before the end of the year.
News of the PlayStation 4 Vita bundle first surfaced on MCV this morning, with a report claiming the unannounced Ultimate Edition is being planned as part of a massive £2.5m TV campaign, titled The Best Way to Play, for the handheld. Apparently, the series of ads will focus on the compatibility between the two systems, in addition to highlighting Media Molecule’s Tearaway.
The initial news story did not include a specific release date or price, but an image of a reported Sony ad from this week’s issue of MCV (posted on VideoGamer.com) seems to confirm the bundle and the December 2013 release window. Neither of the reports mentions if the PlayStation 4 Vita bundle will be released outside of the UK, so even if the bundle does happen there’s no guarantee that it will make its way to North America.
No official confirmation of the image or report have surfaced at this point, so the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita bundle should be considered a rumor until Sony makes an announcement.
