PlayStation Plus Update: Binary Domain & Oddworld Stranger’s Wrath Are Free

While the focus of last week's PlayStation Plus update was justifiably placed on the newly launched PlayStation 4, today's offering of free Instant Game Collection titles gives subscribers another excuse to boot up the old PS3 and (not as old) PS Vita.

While the focus of last week’s PlayStation Plus update was justifiably placed on the newly launched PlayStation 4, today’s offering of free Instant Game Collection titles gives subscribers another excuse to boot up the old PS3 and (not as old) PS Vita.

For the PS3, PlayStation Plus members will be able to grab a free download of the third-person squad-based shooter Binary Domain. Set in Tokyo in the year 2090, Binary Domain has players take control of an “international peace-keeping squad” that must battle it out in the “robot-filled” lower levels of the city. Far from just a normal shooter, the title has a “Consequences System” that judges player’s decisions, which in turn has an impact on how the game’s plot unfolds.

Over on the PS Vita, Plus subscribers can pick up the action-adventure title Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath. Taking the role of a bounty hunter named Stranger, players must decided on exactly how they take down their targets as they attempt to “earn enough Moolah” to pay for an “expensive surgery” that is needed to survive.

Outside of the two PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection updates, members can also grab a discount on Worms 2: Armageddon that knocks the price down from $14.99 to just $4.50.

That wraps up the latest PlayStation Plus update. We will keep an eye out for next week’s announcement and let you know as soon as the next IGC title (by our powers of deduction, and ability to cross items off the November preview list, it will be Soul Sacrifice for the Vita) and discounts for Plus subscribers are revealed.
