PlayStation Plus Update: Saints Row: The Third And Gods Eater Burst Free Tomorrow

With Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, and LittleBigPlanet Karting all having hit the PlayStation Plus free Instant Game Collection over the last two weeks there is a good chance that you are not exactly hurting for something cheap to play on your PlayStation 3. For the few Plus member who have cleared out their backlog (and even for those who are still working their way though a Sleeping Dogs platinum like I am), Sony has announced that Saints Row: The Third will hit the IGC in North America.

With Deus Ex: Human RevolutionUncharted 3: Drake’s DeceptionXCOM: Enemy Unknown, and LittleBigPlanet Karting all having hit the PlayStation Plus free Instant Game Collection over the last two weeks there is a good chance that you are not exactly hurting for something cheap to play on your PlayStation 3. For the few Plus member who have cleared out their backlog (and even for those who are still working their way though a Sleeping Dogs platinum like I am), Sony has announced that Saints Row: The Third will hit the IGC in North America.

Notable for being the last Saints Row title to make it out of THQ before the uDraw Game Tablet and Warhammer MMO sunk the publisher, Saints Row: The Third takes place years after the Third Street Saints took over Stilwater. With fame and fortune rolling in, the Saints have captured the attention of a legendary criminal organization, known as The Syndicate, who are demanding a tribute be paid. Naturally, this sets up the over the top open world gameplay that the franchise is known for, and adds in a healthy dose of giving players the ability to beat your foes senseless with a giant purple dildo-bat.

If insane sandbox gameplay is not your style, Sony has also announced that Gods Eater Burst for the PSP (which is compatible with the PS vita) will also hit the PlayStation Plus IGC tomorrow.

Outside of the new games on PlayStation Plus, Sony reminds their premium subscribers that Blazblue: Continuum Shift Extend and Vanquish are leaving the Instant Game Collection on June 25th (make sure to add them to your download list before that date), which also happens to be the same day that the discounts on Hamilton’s Great Adventure and Draw Slasher end.

That is it for this week’s PlayStation Plus update, make sure to drop us a line in the comments with your thoughts on Sony’s premium service offerings so far this month.
