Due to the dual type of this – presumably – one-of-a-kind legendary Pokemon, Volcanion has a raft of weaknesses and strengths to keep in mind. Ground, rock and electric type attacks will be super effective against it, while ground, bug, steel and ice types will want to turn heel and run in the opposite direction at the sight of Pokemon No. 721. In addition to the confirmation of its type, Volcanion will have the ability ‘Water Absorb,’ which negates damage and restores HP by 25% of the user’s max hitpoints.

Neither Nintendo or The Pokemon Company have announced how Volcanion will be distributed, but one can only assume it’ll be made available in much the same way as past special event Pocket Monsters, i.e. through download events at various locations. There’s also no word on which games you’ll need to own in order to obtain Volcanion, but we expect Pokemon X, Y, Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby will all be able to acquire it.

We’ll update this post with any and all new details on how to acquire it, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled.
