Set on a mysterious island that has been overrun with the prehistoric creatures, Primal Carnage: Extinction is a class-based, multiplayer shooter. Players will have the opportunity to either play as their favorite dinosaur, or step into the shoes of the mercenaries stuck on the island. Although playing as a dinosaur certainly sounds more enticing, the human forces do have access to a unique and powerful set of weapons that could turn the battle in their favor.

While the Primal Carnage series has been active on the PC for the past few years, this is not the first time the franchise has tried to make the jump to consoles. Primal Carnage: Genesis, a single-player take on the formula, was previously announced for the PlayStation 4 back in 2013. While the concept was there, former developer Lukewarm Games couldn’t handle the larger scope of the project. So, the title was placed on hold and new developer Circle 5 Studios moved in a different direction.

We will continue to have coverage of Primal Carnage: Extinction in the lead-up to its 2015 release, so stay tuned.
