Puzzle gamers' hearts fluttered when it was announced at E3, that Professor Layton and the Last Specter was in the works for the Nintendo DS. Now, we know more. What is it you ask? Just a release date for the much-anticipated whimsical puzzler.

Puzzle gamers’ hearts fluttered when it was announced at E3, that Professor Layton and the Last Specter was in the works for the Nintendo DS. Now, we know more. What is it you ask? Just a release date for the much-anticipated whimsical puzzler.

Players can play through Professor Layton‘s first digital adventure on October 17th in North America. A European release window of November, 2011 has been mentioned. As you probably know, this is a prequel to the previously-released trilogy.

A bonus role-playing game titled, Professor Layton’s London Life, will add more than one hundred hours of additional content to the package. It will be available at the start of the game and is rumoured to possibly be a North American exclusive.
