Rainbow Six Siege’s Operation Velvet Shell Expansion Releases February 7

Ubisoft's first content drop of 2017 for Rainbow Six: Siege will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC from next month, the developer has announced. Operation Velvet Shell, which includes two new Operators and a new map in which to use them, will arrive February 7, with the former being free to all players at no additional cost. The new additions to Siege's playable cast, however, will need to be purchased individually with the shooter's premium R6 Credits currency or picked up as part of its Year Two season pass. Ubisoft confirmed the existence of a second season pass late last year along with a teaser for the new content planned for 2017 (below).

With each Season being themed after a particular country’s special services, Spain’s Grupo Especial de Operaciones will be first to take center stage, it’s first Operator – Jackal – having been revealed by Ubisoft previously. A second, yet to be announced, Spanish Operator will be included as part of Operation Velvet Shell, so expect more details on the mystery combatant at a later date.
