Taking to the stage during Microsoft’s E3 press event this morning, 2K Games revealed a series of exclusive content for the Xbox One version of Evolve, all the while introducing the game’s second confirmed monster, the kraken.

This all-new abomination is a significant departure from the goliath both aesthetically and in terms of gameplay. Rather than a hulking behemoth, the recently revealed kraken appears to much more agile than its monstrous brethren, slithering around the game’s luscious, Avatar-esque forests with aplomb.

Should players choose to take control of the kraken, Turtle Rock hinted at some of the lighting-fuelled abilities that the beast possesses, including a feature that will allow the putrid monstrosity to levitate for a brief period of time.

In terms of Microsoft’s exclusive content, though, Turtle Rock Studios — the creative minds behind zombie co-op shooter, Left 4 Dead — confirmed that both DLC and the Evolve’s forthcoming beta testing stage will arrive on Xbox first and foremost before expanding to other platforms.

Evolve will launch globally across PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on October 21st, 2014.
