Dontnod Entertainment remains hopeful that a Remember Me 2 will become a reality, after revealing that the core story for the proposed sequel has been complete but ultimately, the fate of the follow-up rests in the hands of Capcom.

Speaking to Siliconera, the developer confirmed that they have ambitions to continue the story of Nilin and further exploring the memory-mixing world of neo-Paris, but it’s up to Capcom to issue the greenlight.

“We know what we would do for Remember Me 2,” said Dontnod creative director, Jean-Maxime Moris. “The main story has been written we know what we would add to the recipe. We know what we would fix. It’s a game that’s ready to be made, but that decision is Capcom’s to make.”

It’s interesting to hear that Dontnod has mapped out a framework for Remember Me 2, even though the original title failed to make much of an impression when it released in June of 2013. Still, the sci-fi title introduced some novel mechanics that the studio could certainly build upon should the opportunity of a sequel present itself.

As for Dontnod’s current episodic project, Life is Strange, Moris went on to talk about the potential of a second season for the story-driven title, continuing the time-shifting plot of Max and Chloe.

I really hope we will be able to work on more Life is Strange [beyond the five episodes]. We need to capitalize on what we have done. It is a balance of trying different things and capitalizing on what we know. For Season 2 we started bouncing ideas off each other. Obviously we need to see and Square Enix needs to see how the first season does to really decide whether we kick it off or not. So, it’s not in the works, but we have started the very early stages of conception at Dontnod.

Tell us, would you be interested to see a Remember Me 2? Or do you feel as though Dontnod should focus their resources on something new? Let us know your thoughts.
