Before Capcom even made Resident Evil 7 and its VR functionality official at this year’s E3, the developer had already spent a considerable amount of time behind the scenes working on virtual reality projects. Among those was their ‘Kitchen’ VR demo, a bone-chillingly terrifying experience that eventually turned out to be a work in progress teaser for the the sequel to Resident Evil 6.
That very same bit of software is now available for owners of Sony’s PlayStation VR In North America and Europe, but acquiring it depends on which territory you reside in. For those of you in North America, the demo is included on the disc included with the headset. In Europe, you’ll need to download the title for free via the PlayStation Store.
If you’ve already had your fill of the Beginning Hour demo currently on PS4, you’ll be intimately familiar with ‘Kitchen”s setting, but here’s your first chance to get up close and personal with the creepy setting.
Speaking of, Resident Evil 7 producer Masachika Kawata recently told wccftech (via VG247) that one more update to the Beginning Hour demo is planned before the full game launches on January 24. No specifics are mentioned, but Kawata does say that the patch will give players the chance to “experience other aspects of the game.”
With any luck, we may finally find out what that damn dummy finger does.
