Resident Evil 7’s Season Pass Contents Include An Additional Story Episode

Resident Evil 7 will be with us next week, ready to frighten the pants off anyone initially brave enough to venture inside the Baker Mansion, but the scares look set to continue throughout 2017 with a hefty amount of DLC. As per the game's Steam page, a new section has recently been added that sheds some light on what to expect from the survival horror's Season Pass throughout the year. Split into two separate volumes of 'Banned Footage', it's not entirely clear what the features of each entail, but they appear to be referencing a collection of three new episodes that flesh out the original story in some form.

Resident Evil 7 will be with us next week, ready to frighten the pants off anyone initially brave enough to venture inside the Baker Mansion, but the scares look set to continue throughout 2017 with a hefty amount of DLC.

As per the game’s Steam page, a new section has recently been added that sheds some light on what to expect from the survival horror’s Season Pass throughout the year. Split into two separate volumes of ‘Banned Footage,’ it’s not entirely clear what the features of each entail, but they appear to be referencing a collection of three new episodes that flesh out the original story in some form.

Nightmare, Bedroom and the provocatively-named Ethan Must Die are listed under Vol. 1, while 21, Daughters and Jack’s 55th Birthday round out Vol. 2. For those who haven’t been keeping up with Capcom’s teasers for Resi 7, Jack Baker is the Patriarch of the Baker family, who you’ve likely already had several run-ins with in the Beginning Hour demo.

The name Ethan, on the other hand, refers to the player-controlled protagonist, who has taken a vacation to the Baker Mansion in order to look for his missing wife, Mia. Normally, we’d peg these as being expansions to Resident Evil 7‘s core story, but an “Additional Story Episode” is directly mentioned as a standalone slice of DLC, so it’s likely the other six are smaller, more bite-sized pieces of content.

Resident Evil 7 is out for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on January 24. For those that want a memento to cherish the nightmares they face within the walls of the Baker abode, an $180 Collector’s Edition is available for pre-order in the US at GameStop. Check it out below.
