Skullgirls Encore Is This Week's Addition To The PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection

Lab Zero Games’ Skullgirls Encore is this week’s addition to the PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection. Centring around the quest for the mysterious “Skull Heart,” Skullgirls is a 2D fighter that features a unique selection of combatants. The female centric roster includes an amnesia stricken schoolgirl wearing a symbiote named Samson, an immortal thief who can survive dismemberment, a shape shifting monster currently looking like a nun, and many other oddballs. The “Encore” upgrade released earlier this year added new stages and music, as well as balance tweaks for the fighters.

Skullgirls Encore will take the place of Brothers: A Tale Of Two Sons, which leaves the Instant Game Collection on May 20th alongside PlayStation Vita title Unit 13. So if you haven’t downloaded either of those titles yet, time is running out for you to do so.

In addition to the usual free game, PlayStation Plus subscribers will also have access to a variety of deals for the many free-to-play offerings available on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. In-game currency and add-ons for the likes of Blacklight: Retribution, Dust 514 and Dead or Alive 5 has been marked down substantially. So if you were eyeing that “3210 Platinum + Mods” upgrade for Warframe, but thought that $149.99 was just a little too much, perhaps the drop to only $101.24 will help you make the purchase.

Additionally, discounts on Hitman Absolution Special Edition, Hitman Trilogy HD, Tomb Raider and the recently released Serious Sam 3: BFE will be open to PlayStation Plus subscribers. It is a little funny, though, that Lara Croft’s latest adventure is on sale, considering it was just available in the Instant Game Collection in March.
