The scheduled release date of February 5 for Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time isn’t far off at all, and Sony, as well as the game’s developer, Sanzaru Games, are gearing up the hype machine with a new trailer showcasing some of the missions players can expect to encounter in the game’s first setting – that of feudal Japan.
Besides giving a hint of the game’s overarching story, which involves Sly and company traveling through time to prevent the thieving raccoon’s ancestors from meeting unfortunate fates, the game shows several phases that players can expect to go through before facing the fiendish tiger boss El Jefe. Sly himself will start out by doing some recon and identification with his trusty binoculars, followed by turtle technician Bentley sending out a remote-controlled car with a microphone attached to drop in on the evil feline’s conversations.
Afterwards, Sly will steal pieces of uniforms from oblivious guards to make himself a samurai suit and infiltrate the boss’s lair. Then, burly hippo Murray will create a distraction among the troops, in a way that you should probably see for yourself. Sly’s ancestor Ryoichi will then have to navigate through some traps and obstacles, culminating in the four allies taking on El Jefe’s goons, and Sly having a boss fight with the tiger one-on-one.
Sony also revealed the winners of an earlier contest that involved players submitting their own designs to be featured as collectible loot in the final game. The winners can be viewed below:
A new, budget-friendly price for the game has also been announced. PS3 players will be able to get their hands on the game for just $39.99, and will also receive the downloadable Vita version of the game at no extra cost. Those who wish to get just the Vita version will only have to pay $29.99.
We will keep you updated on more Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time news as it drops.
