Sniper Elite 3’s Second Dev Diary Takes Aim At Multiplayer

Rebellion’s latest developer diary for Sniper Elite 3 gives us a brief look at the multiplayer, co-op and customization options. The game is taking steps to push multiplayer away from camping, which usually results in pure domination. To do so, Rebellion has implemented a new system that calculates the distribution of ammo and forces players to move from point to point over the course of an online match. Additionally, relocating and lining up a perfect shot will play a key role during your online battles and stalking and out maneuvering your enemies will net you higher multipliers after taking your kill shot.

Taking your skills online isn’t the only option for multiplayer enjoyment, either, as the game’s co-op mode allows you to take on the single player campaign with a friend, which adds a unique dynamic to each of the missions.

Spanning across all of the game’s modes is a unique levelling up system that allows players to customize their rifles. A variety of options will be available for you to choose from, including scopes, barrels, stocks, mechanisms, and scope reticles. Be careful what you create, however, because if you die on the battlefield in multiplayer your enemies will be able to equip your weapon, and turn the tides of war.

Sniper Elite 3 is scheduled for release on July 1 for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. Rebellion will also be self-publishing the Windows PC version on June 27.
