Sonic Generations Getting Retro Unlockables, PC Pre-Order Bonus

Sonic Generations looks like the Sonic game that fans and non-fans have been eagerly waiting for (if you never played Sonic Colors or any of the DS games). But even if you're disappointed by the paradoxical platformer, SEGA has got you covered. Twice.

Sonic Generations looks like the Sonic game that fans and non-fans have been eagerly waiting for (if you never played Sonic Colors or any of the DS games). But even if you’re disappointed by the paradoxical platformer, SEGA has got you covered. Twice.

At Paris Games Week, Sonic Team‘s Takashi Iizuka mentioned that the original Sonic the Hedgehog would be an unlockable (read: NOT DLC!) for an unspecified requirement in the game.

This isn’t the first time SEGA has included classic Sonic games as unlockables. In Sonic Adventure DX for the GameCube and PC, there were several Game Gear games that were unlockable when certain requirements were met in the core game.

Additionally, those interested in the PC version of Generations will likely be interested in the pre-order bonus Steam is offering. Pre-order Sonic Generations on Steam and you’ll instantly get digital copies of Sonic 3D Blast and Sonic 3 and Knuckles.

Sonic Generations speeds by for XBOX 360, PS3 and PC next week on November 1. The 3DS version will be released November 22.

What say you, gamers? Is it next week yet? Should I feel guilty that while everyone else is picking up Uncharted 3 next week, I’ll be the one looking forward to Sonic Generations? Seriously, I freaking want this game.
