Guardians, start your engines. That booming phrase may very well be resounding around the solar system in the not-so-distant future after Bungie community manager Eric Osborne revealed that adding a racing mode to Destiny has “come up as a topic” within the development team.

Now, before you race to the nearest Tower vendor to upgrade your Sparrow, it’s worth noting that introducing a racing mini-game is just one of many ideas that the studio is contemplating in order to ensure players aren’t short of content.

Speaking with GameSpot, here’s what Osborne had to say on the possibility of bringing a racing mode into Destiny:

“It’s definitely an idea that has come up at the studio. And there are dozens and dozens and dozens of cool ideas. Part of the process of sustaining Destiny is figuring out what’s the most bang for the buck, what’s the right feedback to go after and address, how do we deliver the experiences that players want. And race is definitely one of the things that has come up as a topic, so we’ll see. It’s one of those shifty, no-promises answers.”

Whatever the outcome, it’s clear Bungie has no intention of slowing down when it comes to releasing content updates into its shared-world shooter. In fact, the game’s recently-released expansion pack, The Dark Below, marked the twelfth post-launch update that had made its way into the title, and the studio stated that it’s “going to keep addressing feedback [and] listening to players.”

Stay tuned to We Got This Covered over the coming days when we’ll have our detailed review of Destiny‘s maiden DLC The Dark Below, which arrived across all platforms on Tuesday, December 9.
