Activision and Infinity Ward have rolled back the years with the gripping launch trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered.

Activision and Infinity Ward have rolled back the years by unveiling the launch trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, the overhauled version of the beloved, 2007 original.

Though there are rumors that both parties will eventually launch the HD re-release as a standalone title, Modern Warfare Remastered is currently tethered to the launch of Infinity Ward’s latest entry in the series, Infinite Warfare, and is considered by Activision to be one of the most valuable slices of add-on content in the company’s history. Few would argue against such a bullish claim, but the fact that, for now, MW Remastered remains exclusive to the Legacy Edition (or higher) of Infinite Warfare has left a bad taste in people’s mouths.

But we digress, when Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered touches down for PC, Xbox One and PS4 – those who have pre-ordered on the latter platform can hop into the campaign from October 5 – in two months’ time, it’ll come packing the entire campaign from Infinity Ward’s seminal original and, by the year’s end, all 16 multiplayer maps to enjoy thanks to a free content update in December. If you’re yet to clock eyes on the overhauled multiplayer component, have a gander at the reveal trailer from Call of Duty XP. Meanwhile, our hands-on preview ought to give you a better understanding of what to expect from that multiplayer component.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered releases alongside Infinite Warfare on November 4. Will you be basking in the nostalgia of the former? Or locking horns with Kit Harington’s supervillain in the latter? Let us know below!
