The hype machine for Street Fighter V is ramping up with more and more character announcements coming faster than ever. Capcom only just revealed a few weeks ago that Rainbow Mika would be returning for the fifth entry in the pedigree beat ’em up, and now we have another new fighter joining the ranks.

Rashid, a Middle-Eastern fighter with wind-based attacks, follows Necalli as the second of four brand new characters that’ll be making their debut in Street Fighter V. You can watch the reveal trailer above, but judging by first impressions, the character’s move-set bears more than just a passing resemblance to series favourite, Cody.

The Producer for Street Fighter V, Yoshino Ono, made the announcement in person at Dubai’s Games15 event to rapturous applause. In the footage, Rashid can be seen summoning tornadoes to trap enemies and expel them as projectiles for versatility. Additionally, it seems he has several melee special attacks and even a grapple move.

With Rashid now announced, that still leaves Capcom with two brand new characters and three returning characters to unveil to the public. With the Tokyo Games Show due to start next week, could we see yet another announcement? Stay tuned, as we’ll be sure to keep you posted.
