Fans of Croteam’s first-person puzzle game, The Talos Principle, will soon have a reason to revisit the well-received title.
The Serious Sam developer announced that the game’s add-on content, Road to Gehenna, will be released on July 23 via Steam. The downloadable expansion will feature a new playable character in the form of Elohim’s messenger Uriel.
The same writing crew of Tom Jubert and Jonas Kyratzes have returned to pen the expansion’s story, which is spread out through four chapters and is said to help flesh out the world of The Talos Principle, which originally released in December of 2014 as a PC exclusive.
While the price for Road to Gehenna has not yet been announced, we did get Publisher Devolver Digital’s fictional, yet hilarious, CFO Fork Parker’s take on the upcoming DLC:
“”The original plan was to divide The Talos Principle: Road to Gehenna into over 100 different $5 DLCs but the Devolver Digital DLC Ethics Department advised against it. That particular department has subsequently been disbanded.””
Despite Fork Parker’s original business plan, The Talos Principle: Road to Gehenna seems like great news for fans of the original game. Croteam seems to be delivering a fully realized expansion rather than piecemeal DLC. Retaining the original writers is also a great sign, as the story was just as much of a highlight in The Talos Principle as the puzzles were.
Tell us, are you excited about checking out The Talos Principle: Road to Gehenna DLC when it releases in July, or are you waiting for The Talos Principle: Deluxe Edition to hit PlayStation 4 later this year?
