Telltale Teases More The Walking Dead Before Season Two

The fact that there will someday be a second season for Telltale Games' The Walking Dead has been public knowledge ever since the studio yelled it from the rooftops just after releasing the adventure game's second episode last year. Nevertheless, writer Gary Whitta once again confirmed the news of a "way off" future release for TWD season two during a recent IGN "Up at Noon" interview. Surprisingly, Whitta also hinted that we might not have to wait anywhere near that long to play some more of The Walking Dead.

The fact that there will someday be a second season for Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead has been public knowledge ever since the studio yelled it from the rooftops just after releasing the adventure game’s second episode last year. Nevertheless, writer Gary Whitta once again confirmed the news of a “way off” future release for TWD season two during a recent IGN “Up at Noon” interview. Surprisingly, Whitta also hinted that we might not have to wait anywhere near that long to play some more of The Walking Dead.

“I can tell you what you already know, which is season two is coming. There’s not much to say because it really is very early…it’s a way off. But, knowing that it’s a way off, and knowing that people are hungry for more Walking Dead…there may very well be more Walking Dead from Telltale before season two. We may have a little something extra for you between season one and two… You won’t have to wait for season two to play more Walking Dead”

It is unclear at this point exactly what Telltale has in mind for this additional The Walking Dead content. The studio has already stated that we can expect to see the surviving characters from the first season make a return, so it is possible that this extra DLC could act as a bridge between seasons one and two. Of course, it is also just as likely to be some sort of spin-off.

Whatever it is, color us excited for more The Walking Dead. The episodic game very nearly took our 2012 game of the year award, and most of us at WGTC have been going a bit stir crazy in anticipation for season two.

We will keep an eye out for the official announcement on whatever Telltale has in mind, and let you know as soon as we hear anything  In the meantime, let us know what you are hoping for out of this extra The Walking Dead DLC down in the comments.
