It looks as though Telltale Games is beginning to find its multi-platform groove. Previously, fans of the studio would be forced to wait weeks and sometimes months until an episode of The Walking Dead or The Wolf Among Us would reach mobile devices, but with Tales from the Borderlands, that wait has been minimised as the first episode in the Pandora-inspired series is available on iPhone and iPad from today.

Priced at $5 on both platforms (an Android release is expected later this month), the first installment is titled Zer0 Sum and will see players jump into the roles of Rhys and Fiona — a would-be Hyperion operative and a secretive Pandora native, respectively. Honing the same aesthetic as Gearbox Software’s ludicrious shooter along with its eclectic, no-holds-barred sense of humor, Tales from the Borderlands has been billed as the perfect episodic title for fans of the franchise.

In our review, we loved the maiden episode in Telltale’s latest episodic series, praising Tales from the Borderlands‘ excellent writing and quirky characters.

Even if you’re not a fan of the first-person shooter/RPG hybrid series, there’s no denying that its setting makes for a great point-and-click adventure game that once again proves why Telltale is at the top of their class. Tales From The Borderlands: Episode 1 – ZerO Sum is a strong debut for what looks to be another Telltale Games classic.
