Titanfall developer Respawn Entertainment announced details on the first major piece of downloadable content for the game’s Season Pass at PAX East today. Going by the title Expedition, it will be a map pack containing three new environments for players to compete in. These include the Swamplands, which will boast unique wallrunning patterns and “zipvines,” Runoff, which will contain plenty of pipes and water, and Wargames, which is based off of the Tron-esque training simulator at the game’s start.

The following description was also offered:

“In the wake of the Battle of Demeter, IMC Expeditionary Forces travel deep into Frontier space to recover from their recent defeat. On an uncharted world, the IMC begin construction of a new fleet operations base, using newly acquired water collection and filtration plants to support the new base. When drainage operations reveal ancient ruins and artifacts of an unknown origin in a nearby swamp, Spyglass activates an archaeological team to investigate the site. To maintain battle readiness at the new base, IMC Pilots use simulation pods to train for anticipated Militia raids, based on lessons learned in Angel City and IMC Airbase Sierra.”

Expedition, which is the first of three planned paid DLC packs, will release some time in May for $9.99 individually, or as part of the $24.99 Season Pass. Additionally, Respawn hinted at several smaller add-ons that will be made available for no cost at some point, including decals and personal markings for Titans, new Burn Cards, a new mode called Wingman 2v2 Last Titan Standing, and the interesting option to input a hashtag and be matched up with players with similar tastes.

We will continue to keep you updated on Titanfall as more news becomes available. For now though, tell us, are you interested in picking up the DLC when it arrives?
